Louis Vuitton’s Boîte Chapeau Souple Now Comes in Empreinte Leather

Louis Vuitton’s Boîte Chapeau Souple was introduced almost two years ago. It was the brand’s answer to the incredibly-expensive and equally as impractical but beloved, Petite Boîte Chapeau. The Boîte Chapeau Souple is built off of principles from Louis Vuitton’s iconic history of trunkmaking. Just like its little sister, the bag is modeled after a classic hat box, complete with luggage-like detailing. Nicolas Ghesquière reimagined a travel classic into a wearable, useable bag for the everyday

The Boîte Chapeau Souple is larger in size and less structured than its predecessor, making it more functional (and also more affordable). Both bags have become beloved by Louis Vuitton fans, and the souple version has already been reimagined a couple of times, both in the brand’s iconic embossed patent monogram Vernis leather, and as part of the LVxLOL capsule. Now a year later, Louis Vuitton has introduced a new version that fans are sure to love. Introducing: the Boîte Chapeau Souple in Monogram Empreinte.

This bag is crafted from supple Monogram Empreinte leather, which is a soft leather that feels nice to the touch. However, the grain on the leather makes it a more durable for wear and use. The rounded edges of the bag complement the soft leather and though this bag is instantly recognizable, it is still a perfect choice for those who prefer a more understated logo thanks to its monochrome body. Inside there is a small slit pocket and the bag is lined in microfiber. The overall dimensions are 7.9″L x 8.9″W x 3.1″D and retail is $2,860 via Louis Vuitton. In comparison the monogram canvas version will set you back $2,550.
