Treasured Teapot: Stunning Silver

Let Gorham Silvers Buttercup teapot shine at your wintry tea table.

With a 136-year legacy, Gorham Silver maintained a reputation for manufacturing a variety of high-quality products. The company gained even more popularity once the silver manufacturer’s Josephine teapot and silverware set were selected by Mary Todd Lincoln for use during her husband’s term in the White House. In 1967, Gorham Silver was sold to Textron and changed several hands before becoming a part of the Lenox family. This Buttercup teapot, which features intricate foliate ornamentation along much of the piece, is a wonderful example of the brand’s craftsmanship and attention to detail from the early 20th century.
